Lynn Roberts, 59

Lynn Roberts, 59, of Artesia, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Las Cruces Nursing Center.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1943, in Fresno, Calif., to Vernon and Wanda Hyatt.

She went to elementary school in Portales and graduated from high school in Las Cruces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Duane; and a sister, Sharon.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Roberts; a son, Randall Marks; a daughter, Christina Larson; two sisters, Nena Robbins and Donna Messick; a brother, Danny; and two grandchildren, Timothy and Ethan Larson.

Arrangements are by Graham Mortuary of Las Cruces. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Temple Church in Portales.

Wayne Hahn, 79

Mr. Wayne Hahn, 79, of Portales, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his home.

He was born on July 7, 1924, in Portales, to Elver and Alvin Hahn.

He was a lifelong resident of Portales. He married Louise Barber on June 24, 1944, in Lubbock. They operated their dairy farm together for many years and was the top dairyman in the state for several years. He raised Appaloosa cutting horses and show sheep. One of his cutting horses was among the top 10 cutting horses in the nation in 1965. He was a member of the Central Christian Church. He served as a county commissioner for two terms, and was one of the founding board members of the Roosevelt County Little Wranglers. He also served on the advisory board for the First National Bank. He was chosen as an Honorary Chapter Farmer and Honorary State Farmer for FFA, and was a 4-H leader for the Horse Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glen Robert Hahn; a sister, Isla Ruth Hahn; and by his wife.

He is survived by three sons, Charles Hahn (and wife, Susan) of Phoenix, Harold Hahn (Beth) of El Paso and Carl Hahn (Diann) of Clovis; two daughters, June Johnson of Houston and Janice Cowen (Gaylen) of Portales; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth Hahn of Roswell, A.L. Hahn of Marble Falls, Texas and Fred Hahn of Granbury, Texas; and a sister, Wynema Shelby of Abilene, Kan.

Kenneth Broad and Allen Conner will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wendell and Monte Best, Charles Good, Buck Wilson, Jim Russell and Pat Boone.

Honorary pallbearers will be his many friends are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church in Portales.
