Samplings of recent calls received by the Clovis Police Department, according to police reports:

After receiving a call about noon on Wednesday that a woman was threatening to throw herself in front of traffic on the 1600 block of East Second Street, police separated a feuding couple staying in a Clovis hotel.

Police left after the woman said she didn’t actually plan to kill herself and just wanted to make the man listen to her.

A Wednesday afternoon narcotics search turned into an animal cruelty complaint when officers arrived at the 500 block of Rencher and found that a pit bull in the yard needed medical attention.

Officers found that the pit bull had lacerated and severely infected ears that were attracting large numbers of flies, had no food, and had an inadequate water supply with more than a week’s worth of green algae growth. The dog, which appeared to enjoy police attention, was removed from the residence, given medical treatment, and taken to the animal shelter.

While responding Wednesday afternoon to a traffic hazard at the corner of Sixth and Pile streets caused by pipes sticking out of the back of a parked pickup truck, police determined that the 69-year-old male driver had an outstanding warrant from Ohio for a parole violation.

Police arrested the man and took him to the county jail for booking on the parole violation and charges of being a fugitive from justice.

A missing air hose prompted a Thursday morning call from a Clovis gas station. According to the store clerk, unknown persons took the air hose from the compressor but no other items were missing from the station.

A 16-year-old Clovis boy is under arrest for hitting his 17-year-old sister, who was driving him to a local library where he was to do his community service. The sister told police that when she pulled out of the library parking lot, she did not realize that her brother had not completely exited the car; he became angry and hit her, leaving a very red cheek.

When police found the boy, he had a small amount of marijuana and a “bong” for smoking marijuana in his possession. He was transported to the county jail for drug charges as well as battery on a household member.

Police are searching for a boyfriend who attacked his 19-year-old girlfriend at their home with a plastic fork, beat her up, and interrupted a 911 call she made to police about 9 p.m. Friday night.

The victim showed red marks on her face, body, neck, and elbow consistent with an attack. The boyfriend has not yet returned to their home and has not yet been located.
