Weather report

Rain is the big blessed news throughout our area. It scattered so far and varied from sprinkle to about an inch in the Causey, Milnesand and Garrison areas. The Arch vicinity fared better. There was a lot of hail on Saturday evening south of the old Garrison store. Weldon Carmichael lost some cotton.

Medical reports

Mary Lee Terrell is slowly improving; Fern Hay is still in the hospital; L.D. Hays is improving slowly; Rosemary Kelly is out of the hospital: Tom Wilson is improving; J.W. Carmichael Jr. is out of hospital; Kristi Ledbetter is home and kidneys are doing fine; Frank Smith has kidney problems; Jimmy Mullins is in the hospital in Lubbock; Ivy Hays has knee and foot problems; Migdon Cox is still not feeling well.

Troops overseas

Area military personnel overseas include:

Tracey Christoff is in Iraq; her husband, Tim Christoff is in Korea. Galen Isaac’s sons are in Iraq. Gail and Kenny Platte’s son, Karl Platte is in Iraq.

Dora Baptist youth

Eight Dora Baptist youth have worked hard at garage sales, car washes, cooking, serving food and more at the church for two weekends. They are now getting packed and ready to go to camp next week.

Newcomers

Scott and Sam Watson have three boys and a girl and are new in the Lingo area. He was raised near the Richland school and now manages the WWW Farm Store in Dora.

David and Amy Quick have recently moved into the Gerald Mitchell home in Dora.

Mary and Shirlene Peters have bought the Wade house in Dora and are remodeling in preparation for a move into it.

Moving out

Eldon Merrick and family of Causey have sold their home and are planning on a move to Portales soon.
