Ashley Sanders is the daughter of Rick and Dorothy Sanders and is a senior at Clovis High School.

What’s so great about your favorite sport?

“Cheerleading is really fun to be in because I’m with my friends everyday and I love being in front of the crowds at games. People say it’s not a sport, but come to practice and you will see that is really is.”

What do you envision your life being like in 10 years?

“I see myself married with a couple of kids living in Dallas or Nashville and working three times a week as a dental hygienist.”

Do you think your parents are a necessity in your life?

“Yes! I’m very close to my parents and they have set a great example for me to live on my own, to be responsible and mature.”

If I could do anything, I would ...

“stop abortion because everyone should have a chance for life.”

What is your favorite taste?

“My favorite taste is any kind of Italian or Mexican food.”

Offices held: Cheerleading captain.

honors received: Who’s Who Among American High School Students for three years, National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, cheerleading captain for two years.

School activities: Cheerleading, Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Church/community activities: Youth group at Parkland Baptist Church, community clean-up, world changers church camp.

Hobbies: Cheerleading, gymnastics, going to the movies, and hanging out with friends and family.

Future plans: To attend Amarillo College and become a dental hygienist.

Sanders was selected for this student profile by Clovis High School faculty and staff on the basis of academic achievement, involvement in school activities and strong moral character. Nominees must be seniors at CHS.
