Angela Christine Reuther, 23, a resident of Fort Sumner, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in an automobile accident on Highway 104 in San Miguel County.

She was born Sept. 14, 1979 in Tacoma, Wash. She attended schools in Anchorage, Alaska; Flagstaff and Camp Verde, Ariz., where she participated in the speech and debate program, Big Brothers Big Sisters Program and the Equestrian Club.

She received her bachelor of science degree in psychology from Arizona State University and was currently working toward her masters degree at Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M.

She was employed with the New Mexico Children, Youth and Family Division in Tucumcari.

Her family said she loved horseback riding, reading, hiking, rock climbing and anything to do with animals.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Arno Reuther.

Survivors include her mother Pamela (and husband John) Nuttall of Fort Sumner; her father, Dick (and wife Sherri) Reuther of Prescott, Ariz.; several aunts, uncles and many cousins, friends and co-workers.

The family prefers memorials in Angie’s name to the New Mexico Children, Youth and Family Division or the Fort Sumner Public Library, P.O. Drawer D, Fort Sumner, N.M. 88119.

Arrangements are being handled by Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
