Lowe's store almost a done deal

A spokeswoman for Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse said Thursday the company has closed a deal to buy a site in Clovis.

Julie Valeant, the company spokeswoman, said partners in the deal are still completing final paperwork and she could not provide more details about the deal until the paperwork is finished.

Developer Bill Giese said Wednesday he has completed a deal to bring a Lowe’s store to Clovis as part of plans for his proposed Colonial Shopping Center. The Lowe’s store will be a 115,000 square-foot building located on the corner of Llano Estacado and Prince streets, he said.

Giese said he did not know when construction would start on the project.
