Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel in Portales.

Mrs. Elizabeth June Lacey, 71, of Portales, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at her home.

She was born April 24, 1932, in Plainview, Texas, to Joseph Franklin and Bessie Murphy Lee Campbell.

She married Donald J. Lacey on May 25, 1952, in Truth or Consequences.

She graduated in 1950 from Hot Springs High School in Truth or Consequences. She attended Western New Mexico University in Silver City. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and speech from Eastern New Mexico University. She had been a resident of Portales since 1953. She worked at Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service as a typist in 1956. She retired in 1990 as county executive director. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Portales.

She was preceded in death by her father; and two sisters, Billie Boughan and Frances Siddens.

Survivors include her husband, Donald of the home; a son, Dr. Stuart Lacey of Lubbock; three daughters, Lorrie Hart of Lubbock, Angela Lacey of Hobbs and Elizabeth Davidson of Lubbock; her mother, Bessie Murphy Campbell of T or C; a brother, Joe F. Campbell Jr. of T or C; two sisters, Earline Powers of San Diego and Joan Marsh of Livingston, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Wheeler Mortuary.

The Rev. Paul Cunningham will officiate the services, assisted by Kenneth Broad.

Burial will follow at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be H.R. Terry, Glen Fields, Guy Luscombe, Ronald Anthony, Robert Harmon and David Sanders.

Memorial contributions may be made to a local hospice.
