  • Clovis boys soccer team nips Santa Fe

    Peter Stein|Updated Sep 27, 2017

CLOVIS — Clovis High's boys soccer team has designs on making some loud noise in the state tournament. To that end, the Wildcats will have to be tested, will have to survive close games. Tuesday was one of those important tests, and the 'Cats did indeed survive, hanging on to beat Santa Fe 3-2 on a damp, cold night at Leon Williams Stadium. Winning a one-goal game is big, doing it against a district opponent even bigger. "It is, it is," Clovis head coach Greg Trujillo said. "...

  • Politics rigged game I won't play

    Kent McManigal|Updated Sep 27, 2017

People often describe the things I write as “political.” They may not even intend it as an insult. I prefer to think of my views as post-political; beyond the obsolete sphere of politics. I wish people would recognize politics as the enemy; the opposite of how they should view the world and interact with others. It would be nice if they did, because politics ruins everything it touches. Politics makes people see the world through the fake “Right vs. Left” lens. It’s a distort...

Varnell touted the value of "milk tanks or bulk milk coolers" which were being installed at dairies across the United States. • Science standard changes mistake, bad for business

    Albuquerque Journal|Updated Sep 26, 2017

Many in New Mexico — home to three research universities, three national labs and a penchant for attracting high-tech companies — are aghast that their Public Education Department plans to veer away from hard science in its classrooms. With good reason.
