    MELROSE — A collision Tuesday night hospitalized two women, according to a news release from the Curry County sheriff. Deputies responded about 8:30 p.m., soon after the crash occurred five miles east of Melrose on U.S. 60/84.     CLOVIS — No arrests had been made late Wednesday afternoon in connection with Clovis’ sixth homicide of the year. Officials said shots were fired at the Clovis Apartments just before 2 a.m. Tuesday. On arrival, police found David McDonald, 30, on the ground, with a bullet wound to his shoulder area.     PORTALES — Even the fair needs water. Steve and Janet Mattfeldt, owners of Sun Valley Rides, which provided the Roosevelt County Fair with rides last month, made a $2,500 donation to the cause.
