  • Each day is one day closer to Jesus

    Joan Clayton PNT religion columnist

Have you ever returned to the home of your childhood and find it to be almost unrecognizable? You had remembered it so vividly but now it looks so different? My grandmother lived by the highway in a small town. Every time we pass her house I can almost smell baked gingerbread with a glass of cold fresh milk. • My Turn - 'Transylvania': Good family fun

    Alisa Boswell

One of the most recent animated movies I've watched is Hotel Transylvania, which puts an interesting and humorous spin on Dracula and other infamous monsters. Let's face it, certain actors bring to mind the tackiness factor in movies and Adam Sandler is definitely one of those, so I wondered how child-appropriate the movie would actually be. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. The movie includes an all-star cast with Sandler as Dracula and Selena Gomez as his daughter, Mavis, and numerous other big-named...

In the years since the breakfast-crowd shooting: - Melgar-Cabrera's brother has almost completed his four-year sentence for aiding in his escape and is set to be deported and rejoin his fugitive... Full story

  • Government supremacy belief is wrong

    Kent McManigal

I find it sad that whenever someone wants to do something, the first question most people ask is whether government allows it, requires a license, or forbids it. That's truly tragic. I take it as a sign that people have been successfully indoctrinated into the socialistic belief of government supremacy. That's a perversion of how life really is, of course. The reality is that the individual is supreme, and every other social construct, real or imaginary, is built — from the b...
