*ENMU Department of Arts and Culinary Arts presents 2nd annual Chocolate Sunday – 2-4 p.m., Ballroom, ENMU Campus Union Building, Portales. *Peer support for first responders – 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, Cacahuate Room, Jake Lopez Community Center, 705 E. Lime St., Portales. Interactive advanced four-day class (32 hours) focused on teaching public safety personnel the art of peer support. Hosted by the Eastern New Mexico Behavioral Health Leadership Council, and taught by current law enforcement officers, police psychologists, mental health providers, and retired law enforcement officers with extensive expertise and experience in verbal de-escalation and crisis management. Limited to 30 attendees, with priority given to first responders; advance registration requested. All attendees will receive a training certificate; free CEUs provided to law enforcement, and detention/probation officers.
