Eastern ropers take second in Odessa

ODESSA, Texas — Lindsey Adcock won the breakaway roping at last weekend's Odessa College Rodeo to lead the Eastern New Mexico University women's rodeo team to a second-place finish. The men's team was paced by Landon Beardsworth's third-place performance in the steer wrestling.

South Plains finished first in the women's rodeo with 410 points, while ENMU accumulated 255 points. Odessa finished third with 220 points.

Adcock posted an average of 4.6 to win the bareback roping after scoring 2.1 in the long round and 2.1 in the short round. South Plains' Kashley Seitz was the runner up with an average of 6.0.

Tawny Barry placed third in the goat tying with an average of 15.2 after a 7.7 in the long round and 7.5 in the short round. The event was won by SPC's Jenna Dallyn with an average of 14.0.

Beardsworth had an average of 12 in the steer wrestling after scoring a 4.6 in the long round with a 7.6 in the short round. Western Texas College's Logan Hyatt won the event with an average of 9.2.

The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo team will return to action on March 22, for the Ranger College Rodeo.
