ENMU energy savings contract up for approval

ROSWELL — A contract for a campus-wide energy savings project, valued at $4.5 million, will be up for approval at Friday’s Eastern New Mexico University Board of Regents meeting on the ENMU Roswell campus.

The project will save ENMU $405,000 per year in utility costs, according to ENMU Vice President of Business Affairs Scott Smart.

According to a summary of the project’s cost, it was developed after an audit and consists of 20 separate energy conservation measures.

Financing for the project has been secured through the New Mexico Finance Authority, Smart said.

Also at Friday’s meeting, scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Campus Union Building of the ENMU Roswell campus:

• A sabbatical request for ENMU professor Jason Paulk.

• Approval of the 2018-2019 holiday schedule for the Portales campus.

• A compensation increase of 3 percent for all full and part-time employees on the ENMU-Roswell campus.

• Approval of an agreement between ENMU and non-profit corporation STC.UNM to secure patent rights for two inventions by ENMU faculty.

• Amendments to the constitution of Associated Students of Eastern New Mexico University, the university’s student government organization.
