Warrant issued in connection with homicide

CLOVIS — Police on Thursday announced a murder warrant has been issued for a 30-year-old man in connection with Tuesday's homicide at the Clovis Apartments.

Darryl Turner is wanted on an open count of murder.

David McDonald, 30, was shot to death at the apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

Witnesses said several gunshots were fired and a man was seen running from the scene.

No motive has been released for the slaying.

Police also on Thursday took to social media in search of three people they wanted to interview about the shooting.

About three hours after asking for the public's help, a police Facebook post reported they had found Nicholas Morris, 27, and Shenieva Ardrey, 37.

They were still looking for Jamond McClendon, 33, as of 6 p.m. Thursday.

Police did not indicate the reason they wanted to interview the three.

Police in a news release asked anyone with information about the location of Turner to call them at 575-769-1921.
