Committee to view road for closure

PORTALES — According to Roosevelt County Manager Amber Hamilton, a committee of three individuals will be dispatched on Monday to South Roosevelt Road 28 between Dora and Elida.

The committee will be out to determine whether or not the road should be closed as requested by county resident Don Bennett.

According to Hamilton, this routine viewing happens after any county resident requests a permanent road closure.

The stretch in question is a mile-long portion of the road which leads to a residence.

The committee will make a recommendation on the road during an August Roosevelt County Commission meeting.
