1967: The Camelot Room off the lobby of Hotel Clovis was accepting reservations for performances by the BJ Duo, Bill Osburn and Jack Rubble.

"Make a night of it," promoters wrote in a newspaper ad.

"Dine and dance. Enjoy the finest steaks, shrimp, lobsters and oysters on the half shell."

1957: Clovis High School was preparing to graduate 174 seniors.

Four of those seniors - Beverly Armstrong, Mac Rowley, Beth Phelps and Billy Jack McKinney - were scheduled to be featured speakers at the commencement exercise.

Music for the ceremony would be provided by the Clovis High band, under the direction of Norvil Howell.

1957: A Portales man said he was asleep in the back seat of his 1952 model car when it ran off the road and overturned twice on State Road 467.

Fred Mitchell said an acquaintance was driving when he went to sleep, but he told police he did not know the man's name.
