Editor’s note: This is one in a series of profiles about local graduating high school seniors.

Aaron Goodwin plans on attending Clovis Community College for welding. He participated in Future Farmers of America in high school.

What makes you excited to graduate and what makes you nervous?

That I don’t have to be here again.

What was the toughest lesson you had to learn in high school?

I guess turning homework in.

McCray Clark will also attend CCC’s welding program after high school. He was involved in FFA and Business Professionals of America while he was in school.

What was your favorite class in high school and why?

Ag, because we get to do fun stuff. You weld and work. Less book work and stuff.

What’s the best lesson you’ve learned from your peers in high school?

Do what you’re told and don’t slack off.

Shaelei Payne wants to obtain her degree in either communicative disorders or animal science from Eastern New Mexico University. In high school she participated in volleyball, basketball, track, softball, National Honor Society, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and student council.

What will you miss the least about high school?

Not having service. We don’t have phone service here or wi-fi.

When high school became overwhelming, what kept you going?

Just to remember that I’ve been doing it for 12 years and that I’m bettering myself for the future.

Daelynn Lee plans to play basketball at Seward Community College in Liberal, Kansas. She participated in basketball, track, softball, BPA and FFA.

How do you want to be remembered in high school by your teachers and peers?

As the fun one that helps everyone out.

What do you do for fun outside of school?

Play basketball.

Kambry Turnbow wants to become a pediatric trauma nurse, but doesn’t know yet where she will go to school. In high school she participated in BPA, softball, basketball, volleyball and track.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully working a good job and maybe I’ll have a family. I don’t know.

Where is the most interesting place you traveled in high school?

Puerto Penasco, Mexico. Just as a family reunion.

Perla Trevino would like to attend college in Hobbs or Albuquerque to become an accountant. In high school she participated in basketball, volleyball, BPA and NHS.

What was your favorite thing to eat for lunch in high school?

Probably pizza. Pizza was good.

If you could have any career you wanted, what would it be?

Be a rapper.
