1977: Triangle Studio of Photography at 2400 N. Prince in Clovis was suggesting "4 ways to say ... Be My Valentine!!"

The studio offered a package of four pictures, each with "handcrafted wood cluster frame" for $29.95.

Sittings had to be taken before Feb. 1 for delivery in time for Valentine's Day.

1972: Clovis police had arrested two teenagers in connection with five recent burglaries.

The burglaries had occurred at four gas stations and Yucca Junior High.

Two flintlock pistols had been stolen from one of the gas stations, police said.

The boys were 16 and 14 and had both been recently released from Springer Boys School.

1962: Herman Clark scored 13 points to lead Portales to a 42-38 win over Tucumcari in high school basketball.

The Rams went into the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead before holding off the late-charging Rattlers.

Jimmy Tompkins led Tucumcari with 12 points.
