Last time out: The Greyhounds, playing without leading scorer CoRnell Neal, fell to Cameron 78-66 to snap a three-game winning streak. The Mustangs routed Western New Mexico 94-59 to win their fifth-straight.

Last meeting: The Mustangs won three lopsided games last year against the Greyhounds, with an average score of 104-62.

Notes: The Greyhounds are one of four LSC teams with two of the conference’s top 10 scorers in Neal (14.9 ppg) and Marquise Harris (14.5). The other two are Angelo State (Quay King No. 2, Lorenzo Dillard No. 9), Texas Permian-Basin (Daeshon Francis No. 3, Johnnie Lacy No. 5) and Texas A&M-Commerce (Malik Albert No. 4, Trey Seymore No. 6). This will be ENMU coach Tres Segler’s first game against Nelson Haggerty, after five seasons as Haggerty’s top assistant and seven seasons at MSU overall. During those five seasons, the Mustangs played in four LSC title games with wins in 2012 and 2016. ... Today’s doubleheader is a combination of two events where free admission is offered — Military Appreciation Day for military personnel and their immediate families and Best Neighbor to the North for residents of Clovis.

Last time out: The Greyhounds, behind a career-high 20 points from Brandi Gomez, defeated Cameron 84-76 Thursday morning. Later in the day, Midwestern State beat Western New Mexico 71-46 to end a two-game skid.

Last meeting: The teams split last year’s series, with MSU winning 61-55 at home and ENMU returning the favor 76-72. Midwestern State leads the all-time series 27-16, with the series 10-10 in Portales.

Notes: The Greyhounds are off to their second-best conference start in their 31 years in the Lone Star Conference, and are two wins short of matching the 9-0 start from the 1992-93 LSC champion then-Zias. ENMU is a game ahead of Angelo State (12-1, 6-1), which suffered a 68-61 loss at West Texas A&M Thursday. The Mustangs are 122-115 in nine seasons under Noel Johnson, and are led by Whitney Taylor’s 13.9 points per game.
