The Greyhounds started off the 2015 campaign with an impressive 40-10 win over New Mexico Highlands.

Just like last season, ENMU has the chance to go 2-0 as they face the Adams State Grizzlies today at Rex Stadium in Alamosa, Colorado, with a 6 p.m. scheduled start time.

In their season-opening 48-17 loss to Texas A&M Commerce, the Grizzlies were beaten in every meaningful statistic. Here is a look at tonight’s game:

Grizzlies offense: Much like with ENMU first game of the season, Adams State had several running backs sharing the carries. Addie Brown led the team with six rushes for 28 yards, Hansley Fleurejus gaining 26 yards on seven carries and Rashad Hall getting 13 runs for 21 yards.

Those three combined for 75 of the team’s 79 rushing yards.

QB Auston Hillman was 13-for 20 for 137 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. Junior WR Phil Romero led the Grizzlies with eight receptions for 54 yards with no touchdowns.

Sophomore WR Chad Hovasse recorded both touchdown grabs for Adams State, finishing with three receptions totaling 18 yards.

Blueprint for ENMU victory: Run the ball. The Greyhounds had 352 rushing yards in their win against Highlands, the ninth most in the NCAA last week, and posted five rushing touchdowns. Commerce ran 43 times for 282 yards and three toucdowns against Adams State.

Last year against Adams State: ENMU cruised to victory as QB Jeremy Buurma completed 6-of-13 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns, both to WR Aaron Johnson, with no interceptions. Buurma also ran nine times for 38 yards, while Johnson led the Greyhounds with three catches for 73 yards.
