My Turn - 'Warm Bodies' is no superhero movie

I watched the new zombie movie "Warm Bodies" last weekend.

I will give the writers and directors props. It is definitely a very different twist on zombies with the story entailing them becoming more human rather than becoming more monster. It was an interesting and creative perspective to see it from. The movie had some enjoyable humor as well.

However, the cheesiness factor for the movie is also very high with some scenes being just flat silly. But the few cheesy moments in the movie do not take away from the interesting aspect by much. It was no Marvel superhero movie, but it was worth watching.

The excitement of "The Wire" continues with more drug dealing and police and government corruption.

I stand corrected by co-worker and fellow journalist Kevin Wilson that it is not JUST a law enforcement show, but a show "exploring the city government, city industry, the education system, the media and the drug trade" in Baltimore.

Wilson was, indeed, correct that it does explore all of these things, but it still revolves around Baltimore law enforcement investigating these corruptions and crimes. Therefore, it is a law enforcement show, albeit a much more in-depth, realistic one than most.
