Sophomores to take PSAT

The PSAT exam will be given to Portales High School sophomores Wednesday.

The PSAT is the practice/prep exam for the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) college entrance exam. The New Mexico Department of Education in partnership with the College Board allows selected New Mexico high schools to participate in the PSAT/NMSQT program each year.

The test is administered at no cost to the students to help prepare students for the SAT, connect assessment to instruction and build college readiness.

Also, juniors wishing to take the exam to qualify for selection to The National Merit Scholarship Program/Competition can sign up in the counseling and guidance office no later than Monday.
