Walk This Way (July 5)

For the amount of rain we received last night, I would not have bet it would have been localized. But I am hearing people outside of town did not get any rain last night.

I, however, did receive rain where I live: 2 1/2 hours of pouring rain, the longest rain storm since I moved here.

Even though the city fireworks show was canceled Wednesday night, I would be willing to bet a very high percentage of people would be alright with the fact it was canceled for the reason that it was.

I have not been here very long, but I can feel the pressure of the drought as well.

When my wife and I moved here the very first thing we were impressed with was that the fact that despite the lack of water, and lack of rain, things still bloom here. Trees still turn green, flowers still bloom, there still is green here.

No, maybe not a deep green that you might see in other places, but definitely green.

Maybe that is New Mexico in a nutshell … getting more done with less.
