Religion Digest: Church holding animal blessing

There will be a blessing of the animals at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 1705 W. 21st St. The blessing will be hosted by Pastor Margot Thompson of Trinity United Methodist Church and Father Ben Wright of St. James Episcopal Church. All animals are asked to be caged, leashed or kept under control by owner. The public is welcome to attend the blessing. Information: 763-4816.

Lecture series begins Sunday

A weekly Christian Apologetics Lecture Series will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at High Plains Baptist Church, 2800 E. 21st Street. The lecture series’ first topic will be “How to prove the existence of God”. The lecture series will be answering questions pertaining to God, the Bible and faith for the skeptical. Childcare will be provided for those in attendance. The public is invited to attend. Information: 769-1382.

Mission hosting shoe drive

The Lighthouse Mission is holding its Second Annual Shoe Drive. Shoes can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Lighthouse Mission, located at 407 L. Casillas Boulevard. The shoes will be donated to Clovis residents. All kinds of shoes will be accepted. Information: 762-1933.
